Speaking of Fall Smallies... here's one my buddy got yesterday on a custom Jerry V Swim Shad 3.5  They love 'em.

Way to go, Drew.  Anyone who has ever fished one of your cranks knows they are dynamite.
Until next time.

That is awesome as are the cranks!!! I use the square bills and the spinnerbaits in the same spots right now and I switch back and forth but when the water gets cold I often stay with a square bill , the difference is I use a flat side in cold water, if I'm fishing the river I like the Rapala DT Flat 3 and the lakes I'll use the DT Flat 7.

I drove out to the local lake this morning and tossed some1.75" small frys to crappies. Generally the fishing was slow but a few crappies were able to be caught.  I fished off a friend's dock since the wind was less than desirable and all along this stretch of shoreline is rock rip-rap that drops down into about 12 feet of water. With the water temp right about 51 degrees, the smallies were laying up on the deeper portion of the rocks and two gave me a pseudo heart attack. Man I can't believe how hard those fish hit and leave with the bait. One of the smallies was an acrobat and the other just burrowed. Both were in the 18 inch range so I had some fun on that 7 foot ul rod and three pound line.
