3" smoothy tube

I've been eyeing this mold for while now. I would mostly target crappie with it. I know its bigger than what most would use for crappie, but I tend to use larger baits anyway. I just dont know how big or fat it is. For the guys that have this mold, do ya think its too big for crappie?

Is the diameter of the 3" the same as the 4"? Where the only difference is the length? Doing some pan fishing this weekend and considering throwing it after reading rondons comments.

They are the same diameter.
So, I guess you could make a 3" tube from a 4" mold, but not vice-versa....

rondon, how do you fish that tube? I have a 4" and going to shoot it and cut it down to a 3" to try it out.

Essentially You can make a 3 out of a 4, but the body is a little longer on the 4 so a 4 cut to a 3 will have short legs and a long body, compared to the tube molded in an original 3.

Are the 3" smoothy's actually 3 inches? Just got a couple 3" molds in. Mine are coming out to be 3.75"
I'm just wondering since there's a 3.5" and also a 4" tube available.

The actual measurements of those tubes from tip to tip are as follows:
3" Smooth = 3-3/4"
3.5" Tube = 3-7/8"
4" Smooth = 4-1/4"
Keep in mind that they all take the same spline so the skirt length on all is 2-1/4" out of the mold.
