I have finally returned to work, been over 6 months, and it has been very slow going on the return, come home right sore everyday, and asking myself if I will get past the soreness. I haven't post any pictures of baits as I have just making and heading out, I use fishing as my sanity to deal with life events, for some reason the world can be burning to the ground around me, but as soon as I wet a line, I find my peace.
My original plans was to head out all day on Friday with a friend and get some fishing done, well Thursday night my truck decides to change my plans, as I drive home it is making all sorts of noises, not so good noises, squeaking and rattling. I call my mechanic and he says bring it in Friday morning, so a phone call to change plans is made.
Friday afternoon I get the call that it is all fixed, he said the rear U joint had seized up, most likely from launching and loading the boat in the past, I in turned call a fishing buddy and planned for a couple of hours Saturday morning, post frontal, water temps 48-50 and winds with gust to 32 mph, sounds like the ideal day right?
Saturday morning, a quick run to the bait shop, a little small talk and off to the lake. Of course when we got out there the air temps was 48, water temps 50 and the wind was less than 5 mph out of the SW. We picked away at a couple fish here and there, couple crappie on the Fry's and a couple pike Fry/minnow combos. The winds started picking up we soon hard white caps and even with 2 drift socks out we were flying down the lake. In the fall I always drag a sucker as this lake has some big fish, and this time would not disappoint.
