Total Slump
« on: 11/17/13 18:10 UTC »
Even though I'm buying supplies here and there it seems really dumb as I haven't made anything since June!!!! No pouring, painting, tying - jigs or flies, spinners or other wire work NOTHING!!! :o  Definately in a slump!

I am in the process of moving right now so I have an idea of what you are talking about.
I have molds I haven't even poured yet.
I also have to make 100- 4oz jigs for a charter captain friend of mine once I get moved and set up.
Hopefully you can get some more stuff made.
Of course then you have to test it out. ;D

I'm with you too, I have returned to work and trying to get fall clean up, Holiday shopping, a couple last trips before ice up, Charity work, and all my son's sports, I have not had the time to get into the lab. :(

Taking a break is nice. I burned myself out a little on plastic so I'm trying to learn the airbrush thing. Tonight I fired the microwave back up and really had fun with it. Made some original colors that look really nice. I have a feeling had I not taking a break I never would of gotten my creative juices back going. So as long as the break isn't too long it isn't a bad thing. Just write down the things you wanna try when you get back on it what way you don't forget

Sometimes you just have to sit back and smell the roses, Fatman.  It's good for the mental health and allows you time to put things in perspective. I've said a few good words for you.
Until next time.

Most of us go through the "slumps". Been into bait making for nearly thirty years and it happens to me at least once a year. Don't worry you'll wonder out to ypur shop one day and you'll be wide open again. As suggested in a previous post write down the different things you want to try.

Yes Matt - I will be.

Just if anyone is curious - the date for Hank's Ice Fishing Extravaganza is: Wednesday December 4th.

Mike changed it so that people could come to it and still have time to prepare for 1st season Iowa Deer.

Hank's also has a tremendous inventory of Do-It Product!!!!  See you there!
