Ribbing? I thought that was something they used for sewing.

I'm far from perfectionist but I always was taught that the sharpest tool was the safest tool. And they are. As long as you don't drop it in your lap.

A right out of the box Exacto blade is not sharp.  I learned that a long time ago when carving decoys.

I thought all these years that the Exactos were as sharp as they get! I feel ripped off now!  ;)

On a serious note - Is there a brand that is sharper?

I guess I haven't found any that are affordable. Get a small medium grit stone and keep it handy at the work bench. It takes about 10 seconds to sweeten up the edge on exacto blade since they are not super high grade steel.

Tom knife sharpening and wine tasting should not be done on the same day. Just kidding. I read this on my second break of my work day the laugh was just what I needed for the day. mike
