Help a poor pourer out, please. How do you manage to pour laminates without color separation? I have tried everything I can think of, all to no avail.

You are talking about hand pouring right? It really is all timing and practice.

I am willing to share some tips for hand pouring. If you are talking about injection, I can provide those as well.

Maybe I can do a video coming up when my son returns. I have some of the hand pour 12" worms heading my way and I will be rocking those big boyz as soon as they are in...

Yes sir, I am referring to hand POURING. I have great success with a Blending Block for injecting laminates.
Any help on pouring laminates is GREATLY appreciated.

No doubt hand pouring is far tougher than many know. Since most folks go right to the injector and blending block system, they have no idea that it can be challenging.

I'll start writing some notes and get you some solid tips.

I know I won't be able to make them look like yours, but I just want to be able to pour a laminate that stays together.

BTW... Do you have the problem of your laminate baits splitting apart at the "seam"? If so, what brand of plastisol are you using.

I won't go into why but so far, only M-F and the new CC plastisols have resolved this problem completely. Other brands will give you issues for sure. There are some ways around though.

Even with injection, you can notice other brands won't "stick" well to the other side if you happen to pour the belly of say a frog and then inject the top portion a few minutes later.

I am almost certain this has to do with less expensive PVC particles being used (large ones) so they can't form a bond real easy unless fairly hot.

Anyway, I digress.....

That is what is happening on my HANDPOURS only. All of my injection laminates do GREAT. Oh yeah, I am using Spike-It Pourasol, and really like it. I have yet to have an injection laminate separate.
