Patuxent river?
« on: 02/04/14 17:13 UTC »
Anyone ever fished here? Looks like an inlet off Chesapeake bay in Maryland. My step dad has a job there starting in March and I'd love to fish it but what all types of fish are in it? Most likely I'll be fishing from the bank.  I'll be right around Eagle harbor area. Thanks ahead!

Yes, yes it does! I had the same idea! But for now I would have to borrow one until I can save enough

You should fish the gas locks (stocks)?  just off the shore.   Striper and blues everywhere.  PAX river is a pretty neat spot.

The reiver will is salt/brackish near the bays and inlets and such.  The farther you go up river towards DC its all fresh.   I am pretty sure bass do hang around near the brack water.   Where will you be putting your boat in at?

It'll just be from shore because I'm visiting family there. Maybe a canoe or something but it's near aquasco. Eagle harbor and the patuxent river park are close also

Not sure if You'v ever fished salt, so I'll say this...

Same day You fish, shortly after You're done fishing, flush Your reels out with fresh water.  Rinse off rods and all tackle You used.  After a few days and a few times flushing reels, take the time to lube Your reel(s).  Diligence In Maintenance in the Salt.
