That wasnt mt question of why you tied. I tie all my jigs with waxed thread also. I asked why you only tie to the bottom of the jig... and not the top

I'm not to sure what your asking. Explain what tying the top of the jig is. I tied the skirt on what else is there to tie ?

What he means is why is all the material on the backside of the jig and not completely around. The way the jigs are laid out for the picture makes it look as if there is a bare spot on the top or front of the jig so the collar is visible. I think he moved all the material to the back to take a picture so it is clear that you can see it is tied but I have tied flipping jigs like that in the past when I was using bulky trailers but now I just use less material.

  I see what he's saying now. I've never tied a jig like that. I guess because it's a cleaner looking jig in the water. If you put skirt on the top side it would tangle with the weed guard and hook. Plus when you put the trailer on it takes up that space.
  These are 3/8 and are the lightest jigs I make. Most of the time I'm pitching a 5/8 oz even if I'm in a foot of water. It's the same colors and hook size just more lead.

Mine are all hand tied and this is how mine look. Ive never seen anyone tie a jig like that.  What ever works!

 To me those are to bulky. Not a jig I would use. I would rather have more of and open jig to fish with. Those are more of a mop jig to me.

The hook in the poison tail jig really holds. The first jig I tie on when swimming  jig's are need.

Lol. Mine are not mop jigs. They are two tabs worth of skirt. Like 40 some strands.  Agree to disagree. Like I said. What ever works for ya
