Have you ever felt like a complete jerk?  For the past several weeks I've been pretty self absorbed in selling my law practice and entering the nirvana of retirement.  The days have been long...leave the house at 5 something and drag home at 9 something.  Sixteen hour days don't bode well for old guys.  I've had tunnel vision in dealing with my own issues and have only occasionally glanced at the forum.  I did not follow The Classic at all.

I did send a witty reply Mrs. V's post suggesting that she take over Jerry's job as moderator, but didn't even read her hyperlink to the Bassmaster article.  I only read the article this morning.  Please accept my apologies, Mrs. V, for making light of Jerry.  You had to be under a tremendous amount of stress at the time and a cocky reply about replacing your husband when he was in the hospital didn't help much.  It was insensitive, but unintentional.

My prayers and best thoughts go out to both of you.

(Let Jerry know that I'll be sending him a PM.  It'll say something about an old, ugly and grossly overweight nurse carrying an enima  bag as she entered his room.)
Until next time.

Denny- no reason to feel bad... this accident happened in 2009 and Jerry has recovered very nicely.  The "hard to get along with" with has been his nature since I have known him.    ;)   Just wanted to bring to light what an upstanding, outstanding person Randy Howell is and that we at the Van Sickle home hold him very close to our heart.

2009!!!  Well, I guess that explains why no one else commented on it.  Like my mentor Forrest Gump used to say, "Stupid is what stupid does."  Now I really feel like an idiot.
Until next time.

I hear that senility starts earlier in people that live in warmer drier climates.
We all knew that you would eventually figure it out, or if not,
Mo Quack would prod you down the right path.

I think Denny's HR department should send him to some sensitivity training...Even if he does own his own firm.

I remember when this happened. I read the story and kept up with how the guy ended up doing. I remember thinking he was a lucky guy and how other anglers came together. I guess I never dreamed it was Jerry from here on Do-It unit I read this. He's one lucky guy.

I was in the same boat with you Denny... the coincidental timing led me to believe it just happened as well.

I've been giving it a lot of thought, efish.  I pretty sure it's a conspiracy cooked up by Mo and Jerry.

Denny.....I thought you'd be outside dancing in the rain. The evening news yesterday said that northern Cali was getting some sprinkles....ok, maybe a whole bunch of'em. Sure hope this helps fill that hole back up so you can fish again without having to travel across mountains and fight tides to do it.

We had a real gully-washer last night for a couple hours.  Sprinkles now.  More good rain tomorrow and Saturday.  We'll take whatever comes.  Those down south have been getting ready for flooding...sandbags, plastic sheeting, plywood, etc.  Last year's fires aftermath.  Go figure...feast or famine
Until next time.

I just hope your area finds some relief. Something more than a week or two. The same weather glitch that's shorting you on rain is whats been dealing us the white misery and cold. What's wrong with Somalia getting some of this winter weather? Or North Korea?

Feast or famine.  No rain and the root cover dies off then heavy rain and mud slides.
