Yea it is God's country for sure! I have gotten close friends with the owner to our camp. We chat Alot and actually these jigs are for him and some round heads. We have it easy in the states a plain round jig you there he said is around a Buck a piece. I felt bad said I could make them a lot Better deal.

I just love the different methods and all structure you can fish up there!! He is trying to get me to fish the red lake classic up there Which I hope to soon. Just added a hds 12touch to our boat this year so very anxious to wet a line!!!

So you pull your boat all the way up there ? That's a long road into that camp. We fly into Duluth then rent a car and drive 6 to 7 hours. Then they pick us up around 9 am the next morning.  When we use to drive it was a 24 hour drive. For use Chicago was always a mess to get around. Now the owner stores our gear and we fly most of it and have them cook for use. Much more relaxing. I'm trying to cut back and only go once a year instead of twice. Get there in May and come home in September.

Its the easiest drive ever IMO.

14-16hours depends on amount people in our group, how many times gotta stop ect. We can shoot straight up interstate 35 all way to Cloquet then up 53 to I-falls. St Paul is our only biggest town we have to go thru which most times is always a breeze going through...Knock on wood

Pulling the boat isnt a issue. I know alot of good friends who travel to Canada each year that do the same. I guess we look at it as we didnt spend 40-50k on a boat to leave it at home. I would not even go up there if I didnt have the boat coming along. It enhances your fishing abilities then fishing out of a camp boat.

Welcome Joe! You'll fit right in here with all the guys. Wondering what you like to use on those Stand Up Spin Jigs? Mostly livebait or what type of plastic bait?

I would guess live bait would be best? Truthfully, I have never used this jig much. If I have my own pick I wont use jigs every....I would prefer to use bottom bouncers and spinners and/or slow death hooks behind bottom bouncers.

Main reason I got into making this type of jig was the guys in Canada were wanting some made and the main dealer for them wants 5 bucks for 2 jigs and I said there had to be a way I could make them cheaper so I got an idea off a group of guys who modified a jig mold.

I hope to have more reviews in a few months as I want to try to fish this jig around Iowa also!

Welcome aboard!!!  Grew up fishing Erie and Ontario.  Until I saw that you moded the mold I was going to ask if you used the Stand Up Spin Jig mold, the crane swivel is put in and you pour it up.

Are you using live bait or plastics on the heads you're attaching the rattles to??  for rattles where we tied them we painted the heads, put a piece of shrink wrap tubing with the rattle inside and sealed it up.  For plastics I used to have the little rattle core cutter tool, then slipped the rattle into the hole and melted a little of the plastic on top to seal it in.
