I don't know many of you but I have had a few conversations with some and have enjoyed every second of them and this site.  This site and hobby has become my outlet and escape and I would like to do my part to raise awareness about Brain Cancer.  To start I am 30 years old and my wife Jennifer was diagnosed with this terrible disease last October.  Since then she has had the tumor removed and is doing well so far with her chemo but it just shows the awful thing called cancer can get anyone.  We have decided to become active in the fight for the cure for this disease and are raising money for MD Anderson (considered the best cancer hospital in the world) here in Houston to go towards research by doing the Run for the Rose.  My wife was having vision problems and it was recommended to her she have a neurological work up done.  She had it and that's how we found out, but it turns out that the vision problem was unrelated to the tumor and this is what they call a "blind find".  Turns out it was do to stress from work (shes a medical device rep).  We were lucky and caught it early but are not out of the woods yet.  If you feel like getting involved please check out the link and my wifes story below.  I know its long but we need to kick the diseases' ass.

I am not on here asking for donations but planting the seed that everyone needs to take a physical, do blood work and regular screenings to prevent this disease from destroying lives. Every penny we raise goes to cancer research at MD Anderson. Her story is below:

As many of you may already know, I was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor on October 9, 2013. I underwent a craniotomy on October 29, 2013 at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. The Neuro-Oncologist feels the gross tumor resection was a complete success; however, I have been undergoing monthly chemotherapy treatments, and will continue for at least the remainder of 2014. Although the past few months have been incredibly difficult, God continues to show me daily that HE is in complete control and his will will be done in his timing, not mine. I saw a post on Facebook the other day that made me laugh, “My entire life can be described in one sentence: It didn’t go as planned, and that’s ok.” That said, I continue to find comfort in a scripture that God gave my Mom for me when I was a little girl…Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Although it has taken me a while to talk about it, I hope that my story can help encourage others. I am so blessed to have such loving and supportive family and friends. Thank you to all of you who have reached out to me to share your stories, too…it helps knowing you’re not the only one or going through it alone. I recently learned of a charity event that I cannot wait to participate in; please read below. I greatly appreciate any and all support to help raise awareness and research efforts for brain cancer.

I'm excited to announce that I have decided to participate in the upcoming Run for the Rose to help support brain cancer awareness and research. It is a charity organization named after the late Dr. Marnie Rose, who lost her battle with brain cancer. I’d like to invite all of my family and friends that are interested in participating with me to join my team, Jen’s Journey. The cost is $30 to register for the run/walk, but there is no minimum for what we have to raise; however, any money donated by my team will go directly to my physicians, Dr. Lang and Dr. Conrad to help continue support their research efforts. The race is a 5k; about 3 miles or so. It will be held at Reliant Park on Sunday, March 30 @ 8am. Following is the link to contribute or to register to join Jen’s Journey;
