New lure idea with pics
« on: 04/18/14 22:56 UTC »
I came up with this idea when a screwed up a paint job today. I gave it the most injured minnow look that I could. I think it turned out pretty cool. It made me think how can we make plastic to the same thing? I know you can red vein core shot it but I think a super injured plastic would be killer. Some times  I think our plastic is too perfect and not stressed enough to get that "I gotta eat it " bite  What do yawl think.

Terry I will take a dozen let me  know how much. It looks like a sauger to me. Either that or a snake in the middle of shedding it's skin. Awesome job. Soft plastic effect to me would be a swirl coloring  or air brush the plastic an dip in clear but that sounds like a lot of work to me. I take my hat to any one that has the talent to do such  Masterful works like this. 8) 8)

It's funny that we often try to imitate an injured bait fish action but not the look. Nice job

Sweet lure right there. And I think you're right about an injured bait looking a little tastier. Seems to be the case when I fish lizards for smallies. The more I catch on one, the faster they start to bite lol. Eventually they tear up and I have to start over again though

That really does have a sauger-like look to it and the injured-minnow concept holds water real well too.

A gold brown color instead of chartruse  would make it look like a walleye, but that color will catch a lot of fish!

Truly impressive work Mo. They stock saugeye fingerlings in my local lakes. That would be an awesome color round here.------Tim.
