Weedless Ball Head Spider Jig

It sounds strange but it isn't really, I came up with this in 2007 when making a finesse jig, I was going to cut the silicone strands to make a finesse jig with a crop top but then I changed my mind and cut the silicone long. What I did wrong was I cut them too short and I was bummed at first but I decided to try it instead of cutting the skirt material off an remaking it. I'm very glad I didn't make the jig over, this turned out to be a really good finesse jig with a small craw or chunk and is really good for the dog days of summer. This one is 1/4oz with a 3/0 Sickle hook and a smaller FG-12 weed guard, the head is brown and the overall pattern is what I call summer craw. I used bio-silk silicone in coffee color for the base and added 1/2 tab of cow tongue and a 1/2 tab of Cajun craw silicone to make the pattern which is basically brown with some muted orange, black, and red which is what the craws in my water look like in mid summer. When you cut the skirt material this way it tends to bounce and while it will work in cold water when used with a chunk that has very little action, it is much better when used with something like the mad dad chunks as the skirt on these have a good bit of movement.
