Nice finds at yard sale and farmers market
« on: 06/28/14 16:37 UTC »
Found some really nice dyed wool at a stand at the Farmers market today and the lady gave me a good deal at $2 hank this is really nice long wool from some skins done this past fall and they dyed the stuff over the winter - of course DA here didn't think about asking what they used for dye until the wife and I were at the grocery store down the road!!

Pink, chartreuse and purple - this is going to make some nice float and flys and satin/wool jigs

At a yard sale on the way home got these 2 tying books for 25 cents each - the book on nymphs will go in my library and the beginners book will go to the fishing club at my wife's school for the kids to sign out.

A guy just has to love those yard sales and flea markets And yes even those farmers markets can hold treasure. Nice find. Beautiful colors.

Awesome deal Fatman!!!! I was just at a flea market and scored 2 packs of Owner twist lock light wire hooks for $1.50 per pack, 2 packs of 5/0 Gamakatu worm hooks for $2.00 each, and 2 packs of Daiichi wide gap worm hooks for $1.50 each. I have yet to find any tying materials but I keep looking!!!

She had a tangerine colored one and I should have bought it!!!!!!!  She had some sample packs and the wife said I should get those to see how I'll like it but I told her those three colors would get used A LOT and it would work cheaper to get the big hanks.  Like I said I was a DA for not asking about what she used for dyes but I have got to get the Flourescent FLY DYE colors, I've talked to RIT about getting them to offer the Florescent dyes but they don't have it planned.

I really need to get off my butt and get tying especially since I've been out of work since April
