 Jason poured these in Silver Shad with eyes and all (thank you).  I added some Green Pumpkin to the back and darkened the tail to create a Baby Bass Color





Mudbugs

I injected the Mudbugs today.  I dipped the claw tips in a green pumpkin bait dye. 





CC Croakers and The Big Foot





The colors in these baits are variations of Watermelon, Green Pumpkin, Purple Smoke (with some Violet).  All colors are from CC.  The bait dye is green pumpkin from Lurecraft.

Would you explain what you mean by dipping the claws into green pumkin dye... I assume after the come out of the mold and still hot? Do you leave the dye on for awhile?

I assume "dye" is the same as plastic color...?

The claw tips are awesome!

Did you do the same thing to the swim bait tail?

Bait dye is different then color which is added to plastic.  You can dip them hot or cold.  Think of it like a stain.  I use a brush and apply it that way but you can also just dip the bait in the bottle.  Bait dye is not added to plastic it is a stand a lone stain.  Lurecraft sells it and so does Tacklewarehouse.

They make the dye in markers as well. I bought a set from Spike-It that is garlic scented.

I never leave the dock without them!!!! The Chartreuse is killer good!

Awesome colors.  I love how natural they look.  I didn't know about the Green Pumpkin Dye.  I'm going to have to get some of that ASAP.

The color on the tips of the Craw's claws really makes them jump out at you.  Great job.  I also really like the Orange on the far right as well.  Is it a core shot or a hand pour into the top of the mold?

Hand pour into half the mold, let it set up, close the mold and then inject for the next color.  I dipped the craw tips in the bait dye to get the contrast.

I've been seriously considering doing some contrasting colors.  Thinking just hand pouring/dabbing small amounts in the mold, some on both mold-halves, then shooting the main color.  I think this is how I'll be adding a different color tail.  I've considered the dye, but does the dye ever bleed off (say, with worm oil), or onto another bait?

Some of the dyes will "run"; slowly; over night a little; over a few days; a bunch. This is the Spike It's you find everywhere.  I use it some ( esp the Chartreuse ) but apply it just before use.  Some of the paints will not run at all but are not real easy to work with.  Lurecraft paints do not run.
