Nice work there Tom.

The Thump Grub is a nice bait. Here in Minnesota the walleyes like them when the water is cold, but a few people are finding walleyes that like them now with warmer water too. The cold water offers a way better bite. I can see a big old bucket-mouth chewing on one though.

I think over the course of four years I tried like 6 different paddletail baits in this general size range as a walleye bait and generally have found that this mold/bait is on top of the pile. Its an easy mold to master and is flexible enough to allow a guy to do some real nice color-combination work. The one you're holding here is a beaut.

Your going to love these Tom. I have been using them since spring and still even today caught large mouth on it.  Once you learn how to use it you will catch everything around you.  I even used it on a drop shot during the summer for small mouths. They tore it up. If your need some rigging tips let me know. Have fun. The strikes are violent!

Like to see this bait in a 4.75" or 4.5" as well. Look good!

Hi guys,
Stuart here from Perth, Western Australia.
I have just purchased this mold, and cant wait for it to arrive :)
Can anyone help me with how this is best fished. I use a lot of 2.5" grubs here and would either slow roll them or do a hop, hop, pause retrieve.
Do I do the same thing????
Thank you all in advance

Orbea....

Welcome to this crazy world of Do-It plastics and jigs!

I fish the Thump-It on a jig. If I am working in low to moderate current I use a head of about 1/4 ounce. If the current is above moderate, the head size goes up so I can stay in touch with the bottom or very close to it. I like to fish these vertically but I have caught quite a few fish by casting and retrieving with the hop, hop, pause method you mention. I have taken fish by simply casting the grub to rip-rap rocks right where they meet the bottom proper and then slowly drag the bait back. Sometimes they bang it when its bumping its way down on the rip-rap.

There are so many ways to fish this grub that I think I'll just say that there is no wrong way. I've caught fish with the bait simply hanging near the bottom with the rod in a holder while I was rigging another rod. That's a "do nothing" presentation at its finest. There is no wrong way. The Mo's Magic bait is another that fishes in so many ways that a person would be hard pressed to find a wrong way. Same with the 4" Ring-It worm.

So....welcome and let us see some pictures of that when you get to shooting.

Thank you Ctom for the welcome and the advice.
I should have the mold within two weeks so as soon as I start getting some poured I will post a few pics :)
Having said that....and as I am a newbie..lol...can someone tell me how to add a pic to a post ????
I have been working with the pearl powders of late and have come up with a colour that is fishing REALLY well for me here.
The colour imitates the inside of a fresh water muscle shell....If you guys are interested I will post the pics and recipe.
Although I now live in Australia, I spent the first 30 years of my life growing up in Zimbabwe, where I spent most of my fishing time chasing Large mouth Bass....I REALLY miss that here as we don't have Largemouth Bass here in Western Australia.
Thanks again for the welcome:)
