Thank you everyone.... Its molded on the blade.  No glue.

So, was the mold cut from scratch or did you modify one of the ultra molds from Do-it?

I'm presuming you took an ultra jig mold to a machine shop with a blade mold and had them cut it in... or was it something that you did yourself?

Could you have forced the mold closed over one blade and poured one cavity without getting a lot of flash? You've got us all wondering. That bait is better looking than anything on the current market!

I think the blade blank was laid in the mold while open and the outline traced after the blade was situated where he wanted it, then the metal slowly cut out using a Dremel. They make a router shoe for Dremels that would allow the milling bit to cut only so deep. Then the process is maybe repeated on the other mold half.

I'll take some photos this weekend and post them that will explain the process.

I also have a couple radical blades I have been working on since last summer that were designed to imitate Gobys.  I will post those as well.

My wife always thinks I am going to get raided by the cops some night.  She says from out at the road you see this guy in his garage, midnight, flame burning (smoking a mold), elbow length leather gloves, hunched over a workbench.....  It has Meth Lab written all over it!  LOL.

I'm waiting to get raided for having lights on in the basement from 7pm-7am for the fish tanks.  Just takes one bored cop to decide I'm growing weed.  I've already seen tracks in the snow where someone walked up and kneeled down to look in the windows.

I'm sorry guys... I wish I was fishing.

Long work hours, two Cross Country meets, helping for a HS band competition this weekend, etc....   I promise I will have some photos up this weekend including a new post with my Goby blades.  Thanks for your patience.

Muskygary is right.... Put the blade in the mold, close it (no need to squeeze tight), and pour.  Whatever flashes out flashes out...  Clip, snip, file and you are done.  I wouldn't make 200 like this but for 4-6 at a time, no big deal.  I play with the position of the hook eye in jig heads all the time.

I'm glad you thought of it because I never would have! Even more important is you shared the idea! Now I've got to get busy and make me some baits! I bet those will work in a tin head also. Thanks for all the information.
