More Blades...
« on: 10/09/14 22:33 UTC »
Thought I'd start a new thread spinning off from "Ultra Blade".  I mentioned two more blades that I have made in the past.  The top one is the "3/4 Fatty" made from the "C" spinnerbait mold.  This is a "chuck and wind" bait that I like in deep areas off our breakwalls and harbor areas.  Rare back and launch it 200' and it will run 15-18' deep.  You can really cover a lot of water with it.

You can see why I call it the "Fatty"

The bottom is one I have made using the old "Slide Along" jig head.  Its unique factor is that you can reel it very slow.

Blades are a great deal of fun playing around with. There are a lot of mold they work well in. 8)
May your days be filled with sun shine and you always have a tight line. AMEN

And I can imagine that if they fish won't hit you could always just use the bait to knock them out. lol

As always Marc, great work. I love looking at what you do with those blades. The anglers on the Mississippi River use a lot of blade baits during the cold water period and are actually beginning to find that blades and the heavier jigging-type lures, like Jigging Rapalas, are good at attracting fish long before the water is considered cold. Seeing what you do and how you use the different molds to manipulate a common bait into one that is set well-aside from the ordinary is great.

I was thinking that when I saw this picture Marc. I may have to get in touch with you to order a couple. Will you do a custom color pattern?

Ma has mentioned maybe going up next week for the weekend. I won't be able to fish trout but the salmon and loopers will be thick. If she sees the extended forecast she might think twice about heading up though. lol
