Yes, the package smelled like Italian food coming into the house (garlic scent)... out in the garage now... can't wait until the ice goes out to tease ol' black with your fish candy.  Grazie.

Busy at work followed by holidays, I totally forgot to send out your baits!  I'll get them out this week.

Not a problem, Nick; I saw your post before the holidays and knew the intent was there.  Even so, I wasn't planning on knocking on your door to get them... I figured we would meet on Trout Lake.  ;)

Trout Lake in Vilas Co? That's doable.  We've fished the small lakes right around it in September the last 2 years.

That's a good walleye lake, but what about the Mercury scare?

I typically only travel north looking for musky; if I happen to catch others, it's generally unplanned.

Lots of people fish walleye up there.  Don't eat the big ones and you don't worry too much about Mercury bioaccumulating. We fish for whatever will hit up there, lots of good bass lakes there.

There's some lay down wood around the islands and the walleye sit under it. You can catch them flippin!

As my dad used to say, "if you're born to hang, you'll never drown."   (It's basically just a country-fried version of Psalm 139:16.)

That sounds like the flippin' they do for walleyes on Winnebago in the late spring going into summer.  The fish can be crazy shallow (about 1ft of water) laying in the reeds and act more like bass.
