Does anybody know if there is a place to get vibrating blade bait inserts in a black nickel finish?

Not to my knowledge, I have looked.  You might try Spike it blade dip.

Buy brass blade inserrts and use this on them  http://www.knifekits.com/vcom/product_info.php?products_id=287
supposedly soaking in hydrogen peroxide a few day days will also blacken them

Caswells has blackening solution for most non ferrous metals http://www.caswellplating.com/metal-finishing-solutions/antiquing-solutions/gun-metal-blue-16-fl-oz.html

If you really want to get elaborate
taken from "The Chemical Formulary":
1 LB copper carbonate (Can be bought as a glaze pigment from art stores)
1 qt Ammonia
2.5 qt Water
Temp: 175F

Instructions:

The copper and ammonia must be thoroughly mixed before adding water. An excess of copper must be present. The color which is a blue-black may be fixed using a 2.5% solution of Sodium Hydroxide.

Awesome!! Thanks for the help!  Just got my blade bait mold and poured a few. Hoping to black out some blades to try to match the shimmer of the shad here. I dipped the head in trans copper powder paint on a few and tapped black powder paint on the top of the head and nickel blade. They look fair but I'm picky and want a better black finish.

I'm ordering the blade dip from Barlows today.  I also have some gloss black carbon fiber stickes being made to see how they look to.  I will post pics as soon as I get them finished up.

I wonder; after the dip dries; if you dip it in UV blast seal coat if that would make it permenate? (Shoot I'd probably lose it on the first cast anyway!)
