The Homeless.

Here's a video I would like to share with you on helping the homeless. It's one of the things I like to take a big part in my area to help the ones that need it the most. I know some are there for just a hand out but most are there because of something that happened to them or had no control of. We all need to love one another and to give from the heart. People give to much at Christmas time to children and friends that have to much. Take time to help the ones that have so little.

Great video it's funny how people can surprise you. The grocery stores have food bags in are area and I try to make sure and help when I can and the food stay's in the area food bank. It would be nice to be able to touch more people. If I would ever find myself in position to be able to do some like that would be cool. Thanks for sharing the video.
May your days be filled with sun shine and you always have a tight line. AMEN

That's pretty cool. I had to go hungry for a stretch due to circumstances beyond my control and it sucks. That was a long time ago but I'll never forget it. As a result, the local food pantry is my favorite charity.

I find myself in the position of helping the homeless nearly everyday I go to work, especially this time of the year as many seek shelter and food at the emergency room when the shelters are full.  They come to the ER to be seen as patients but most of the time they're not a candidate to be admitted to the hospital as an inpatient so most get food, warm blankets and a stretcher to lay on for a few hours.  Some will stay in the waiting room until morning but many go back out into the cold.  It's a very sad situation, especially for the ones who are on the street simply because they have a mental illness and their families didn't know how to handle it.  I try and give them as much as I can while they're under our care, often wishing I could do more.  Most our extremely grateful just to get a little turkey sandwich and some chips.  It is quite humbling seeing someone treat a sandwich in the same way many of us treat our gifts on Christmas morning.  When not at work I donate money and canned foods to food banks when I can.  The most rewarding experience I've ever had was volunteering at the Jimmie Hale mission on Christmas Eve a few years ago, if you ever have a chance to do something similar I highly recommend it.
