What kind of paint was (is) in the Do It Lure and Jig Paint Kit? You know...the one with the 6 little interlocking compartments. It must not be vinyl paint because I was able to clean the brush with water.

Is there any water based paints that work for painting the lead bodies of blade baits?

You can use testors model paint's, but you have to put a coat of epoxy over it.

Many use nail polish and finish with Sally Hansen "Hard as Nails" clear.

Thanks...I've been using a Sally Hansen's rainbow glitter with a top coat of Hard as Nails topcoat and then a final coat of CS Coatings UV. It looks really minnow like on both the lead and the silver bodies.

Black Sally Hansen's works good too. I need to find some other colors!

I've had pretty good luck with powder painting...but as fast as I loose those blade baits I need to minimize my time investment!
