A lot of us has the same problem (me). I've been making my two color with the alumiun foil method.

so I have to put foil in between mold? or a aluminum soda cut out?

Here's a link to two ways of doing it.

There are a number of different threads on using foil, thin sheet or tin cans to make a plate on the forum.

Best way I have found is aluminum flashing material at lowes Home Depot etc. comes in a 2 foot x 10 foot roll. It's thin and cuts with shears easily and cleanly. Make any size you want. Trim long on top of mold like a file folder and label it. It shoots just like a CNC mold. Roll cost 9 dollars and change and makes many.

Funny thing is; I'm still in the workshop hacking up smoking shads with sissors because
ctom yelled at me yesterday.  I think I need a new pair, but I can shoot the hell out of that mold. Lol

I have had my twinjector from Basstackle for many years now. Takes practice and as Justin said, temps being close.

For production, there is no way you can get close the amount of baits doing them with a laminate plate or insert. If they are just for you, you might not care about all the extra time.

Just remember, darker colors will be hotter if you heat it the same amount as a white or light color. Colors with flake will be hotter. Heat those slightly shorter amounts or the lighter color just a little longer. As Justin said, temperature matters.

Not sure what temp I inject at but sure it is cooler than most. Super hot plastic will swirl the colors much easier than cooler stuff.

Learn the twinjector and you can shoot near perfect laminate every single time. And get them done FAST.

PS  Back in the day when I thought up the laminate plate idea, I also told Jason to think about adding a separator plate in the mold sprue to help laminates get done more efficiently.

Might be something to pick back up on...
