Play time with 3.5" swim shad
« on: 02/24/15 13:02 UTC »
Been seeing a lot of people talk about the 3.5 SS so I decided to break it out and start stocking up for summer. This is a color I've never tried but maybe it'll work.

Red spot:
4 oz plastic
8 drops x2 tomato
3 match heads pearl

Belly:
4oz plastic
3 drops non-x2 amber
2 drops non-x2 white
A ton of bronze glitter. ~ 6 match heads

Back:
4oz
1 drop purple x2
2 drops non-x2 navy
6 drops non-x2 watermelon
~2 match heads pearl

In the picture you can see where I started trying to play with Ctoms way of core shotting. This was the first time I had done it so starting was a little shakey. Here is the final product after about 5-6 practice tries.

The shot started out being the non-x2 colorant but x2 ended up working better. I used purple just to get a decent contrast. To get the tail like that, after pouring the belly, I'd stick the end of a skewer into the colorant and put the small drop right at the end of the yellow belly. Came out pretty cool I think. Bottom of the tail is a solid purple even though it shows up blackish in the picture.

Thanks guys. Df, I've yet to do any eyes on baits but definitely need to. Guess that'll be on my next order

I don't know if eyes on baits help catch fish, but on some baits it really ''finishes them off", as ctom would say.

I'm pretty much with DF on eyes and fishing. For the internet, oh yes.
