Hand Pour Molds

I found some hand pour molds that were two piece like injection molds but poured from the top. Does anyone have any experience with these? It looks like a good way to be able to expand my mold collection. I think that if you kept the plastic hot, filled the sprue up, and warmed up the mold it would fill up alright. It has vents like injection molds also.

The ones I have work well. I have the bt split tail beaver molds like this. They pour super easy.

Do you have any problems with thin tails or appendages filling up?

If it's an aluminum mold it can be drilled out to accept an injector. This will help with small appendages. If you hand pour them your plastic will need to be hot. Around 350. A lot depends on the mold itself.

I did have some issues with a Mud Bug hand pour mold, but like
hawgthumper
mentioned, I drilled it out a little and now can inject. Can also still hand pour it.
