Got the boat back from the marina this morning, all tuned up and ready. Weather said no rain until 2 pm (this was at eleven) So decided to take it over to the public launch and tie it up to my pier for the summer. It's about a fifteen minute ride. Two hundred yards out in the lake, just started to open it up and the skies opened open! Total downpour

Oh well happens a lot to me. When I got to my pier I was running the bilge pump. Put my waders on and set the poles to keep the boat from crashing into the pier. On a good note; ran into the DNR; they were just coming in from running some nets to check on the northern population. They caught sixty this morning in a couple of hours! Biggest was 38 inches. Not bad for a 500 acre lake. Also said they caught a lot of nice crappies. I'll be on the water in the morning or Saturday! (DNR also said several female northerns hadn't spawned yet but they were ripe. I figured they would be done by now)
