Zoom natural blue
« on: 04/12/15 21:07 UTC »
Does anyone have a recipe for the Zoom natural blue that they would share?
I know it's a laminate and I have a twinjector.

Welcome aboard!

The bottom, or light color is a simple pearl.

The dark color is a light to medium smoke with a bit of blue hi lite in it. I'd make a 4 ounce batch with a drop or two of black and then a bb sized wad of blue hi lite. A single drop of pearl in the dark will give you a bit of density to the color but you have to be careful with pearl because a little goes a long way fast. When laying the dark over the light color you may have to deepen the shade a bit to get it as dark as the zoom bait is.

Welcome indeed.

Tom is likely your best bet for eyeballing colors and guessing a recipe if nobody has one.

I tend to eyeball as well, but I don't care about perfect matches because I 'm only looking for general color patterns and don't sell my baits.  Plus, I'm rather lucky to live where I do as the fish in my waters eat what I throw out of pure benevolence.   ::)

Try to have fun experimenting and learning rather than getting frustrated over imperfect patterns.

Thanks for the info.  I will see what I can come up with.  Not trying to exactly match just looking for where to start.
