The Difference
« on: 04/16/15 16:56 UTC »
Took a little time tonight to show the difference between left to right Green Pumpkin, CC Green and Baby Bass. Now to be fair the CC Green and Baby Bass have 2 drops per 4oz. and the Green Pumpkin has 4 drops per 4oz. I just felt I needed to bring it up to color as the rest. I made the frog because it's a big body bait and shows the color well. For me as a bass fisherman I love the CC Green with black, purple or even orange flake. It's a pretty strong color but hard to beat.

Thanks Lamar. I'll call off Jerry now.

There's quite a difference between the Baby Bass and the CC green.

I'll fess up here. I want to get some frogs cooked up for the near future and sent Lamar a pm asking if he had both colors [baby bass & ccgreen] that he could show me the difference betwixt the two. In the pm's he was friendly and cordial. In the midst of Denny though he was a turncoat. And people, to be certain and clear, Denny is the union leader of Eunuchs Union Local 00 and he felt his way to the top.

Thanks Lamar. Nice work on the color examples. Very clean and clear. Stay away from Denny now.

Well like I said in the PM I like the baby bass for a frog color. But to green for a shaky head worm or a beaver style bait. I will make some split tail trailers for my silver minnows with it too. Pike love it.

Greens and I are not good company, but that baby bass X2 is a nice color to work with. Its just not a great color to match to frogs in our area. That CC green is more in tune with that.

Thanks again for shooting these to show the side by side comparisons. I'm sure it will save a lot of wondering from many minds.

Bass fishing 101:

Some of the best frog colors for bass are black, white and pink. Not because they look like a frog but because it's easier for a bass to zone in on a bright color through the pads or weeds they are hiding in. Real frogs look like the pads so it makes them harder to target. That's why I like the Baby Bass color. It's a little different then they are use to seeing but easy to zone in on which will give you more and better hook ups.
In other words stop making them look like the frogs. They will miss them more often. That's what the frogs want not us.

Good advise Lamar, I like white surface baits because I can see them better! (Old Duffer) ;)

I fished a light blue frog once and caught a bass on it. It was made with the old CCM Blue and very transparent, no glitter. Go figure.
