Best Part of Fathers Day
« on: 06/21/15 20:41 UTC »
The best part of Fathers Day is being a Dad!

Went fishing with my daughter yesterday, it was a tough day of fishing. My only fish of the day came dragging a tube that Denny made for the bait swap. Then it rained, soaked and without a catch my daughter never complained and kept on fishing.   Here is a photo of her catch that came just after the rain stopped. She was fishing a blue 4'' skinny carrot on a worm nose jig.

This day of fishing was not how you draw up a fun day with your daughter but I wouldn't change a thing.  :)

Anytime on the water with the kids is priceless.
May your days be filled with sun shine and you always have a tight line. AMEN

A picture is worth 10,000 words.
Until next time.

It's a good thing, I know about 300 words and don't use those very well.

And in time that picture will be worth 10.000 smiles. You are doing it right D F take them fishing and take lots and lots of pictures. Sooner than you know they will have their lives and responsibilities and what you get will be a phone call. Hi dad happy fathers day I love you . And that's ok it means that you got it right. But you will become a grandpa and get to do it all again. You will still have the pictures and some smiles and maybe a tear. That is where I am . How can I stop these grandkids from growing up so fast?

My kids are all grown now and about the only time we get to spend a whole day together is when we all go fishing. At this point in my life thank God that I taught them and that they still love it. To All of you dads out there. Teach your kids to fish !!

I got my Fathers Day early as my Daughter and Grand Daughter came for a week!!  The GD and I were out fishing as much as we could - she started learning to cast and Grandpa forgot an old lesson don't me down a short bank when they start working at it, almost got a pierced ear!!!!!LOL

but the Bass were hitting great and this year she had to do the hooking with some coaching and she put her own worms on the hook!  Grandpa was using the little Mo's grub and catching but had to try them too and was happy to catch fish.

They left Saturday morning and hoping she comes for a 2 week stretch at the end of July.  But it's great being out with her although we both slipped and ended up muddy as heck - but I keep 2 old blankets and some big garbage bags in the trunk and we sat on those on the way home!!!  Great Days of fishing!!!!!!!!!!
