Skimpy, I use multiple tabs of different colors for each type of pattern, for rainbow trout I use a color called money maker which is a deep watermelon with black spots, and under that I'll use a little cotton candy, then gray or smoke and a few strands of white for the belly. If you go to LPO (lure parts online) they have a series of tabs called real baitfish, not to be confused with baitfish scales. Anyway, the "real baitfish" colors can be used with other colors or just by themselves to create the type of pattern you want and they have a really nice perch pattern that is gold with black bars, I add a little watermelon and orange to it and it makes a great perch.
