1. Have at least two separate electrical lines...minimum of 30 amps each.
2. Music is important. I invested in a BOSE I-phone system...about $200 or so. Plug your phone into it. Small single speaker...hooked up to Pandora. Still able to get calls, texts, etc. sound is fantastic.
3. Furnish with stuff that is collapsible, if possible...drying racks, etc. maximize your space.
4. Vent above the bench.
5. Electric heater...see #1, above.
6. Steel sheeting can get really hot if the sun hits it.
7. Place for scissors, forceps, ice pick, crack pipe, bodkin, pliers, etc all within close reach. I use a wooden lazy susan type thing that holds most everying. Look at fly fishing stores...they'll have it.
8. Heavy bench top. I use a 1 3/4" solid core framing door, sans hole for nob. It ain't pretty any more, but it's still solid.
9. Lots of cabinet space.
