Fishing buddies
« on: 02/02/16 17:47 UTC »
This is me in the front and my fishing buddy in the back. Today I found out he beat and got the all clear on cancer. I can't tell you how excited I am to have him back in the boat next year. I know each of us has that one guy we just love to fish with. Well this guy and I have just about done it all together and now looking forward to many more years. I am so stoked.

It doesn't get much better than that, Lamar.  Great news.
Until next time.

That's great news Lamar, I lost my fishing buddy a couple years ago.  It just isn't the same, without him.

Cancer. The great killer. Lost my fishing buddy, tackle crafter extraordinaire. Mom, dad, grandad. Brother had it twice. Just had some Basal Cell removed myself. It's not a killer though. Tell your buddy to keep on top of his Dr. Apps. and scans. Congrats to him for being a survivor. One day, we'll have a cure.

Lamar, lest I forget.  Your buddy appears to be much better looking than you.  And what's with all the green tats all over your legs?
Until next time.

Hoping to get the all clear on my dad in the next few weeks. He just had surgery to remove his tumor last week.

Lol. Thanks guys. This picture was taken three years ago. I've had power poles the last two. We were in a tournament and at this point only had one 13 inch bass in the well. We came back the the ramp area (where the picture was taken) and caught nothing. We went to move and my partner said ya know back in the mud there is that one flat with the underwater spring that those fish just sometimes spawn late there. I said lets try it. We got there about noon and my trolling motor was dead. So we went up to a duck blind and stole a pole off it and tied it to our tolling motor. The wind had pick up so we went with the wind and would drop the pole/trolling motor in the mud as one would hold the pole then one would flip the pads. It was a great move and we ended up with a little over 20 pounds. We won the tournament with big bass and 900 plus dollars. On the way home we both couldn't stop laughing.

Hang tough bass. Cancer isn't the death sentence it used to be. My dad beat prostate cancer 7 years ago now and has been cancer free ever since. Hoping for the best for you and your dad.
