Freezing Point of Plastisol?

What is the freezing point of Plastisol...and if it does freeze does it damage it?

With single digits forcasted for the rest of the week...do I need to worry about my plastisol in mailbox??

Seriously; Andrew; You bring up a good subject. I have wondered the same thing.  Just what I need is to have  2.45 Gallons of CCM raw plastic ruined by a cold night in January / February.  Also; what about cured large clumps of sprues & leftover plastic ( remelt stuff ).

Great questions...

I am going to be a little vague in my response for competitive reasons.  CCM Crystal Clear will handle the cold exceptionally well.  It's freezing point is well below -50 degrees Celsius (that is not a typing error).  I wouldn't intentionally subject it to cold weather, but it won't hurt it, it will only increase your time to heat it.

If you find this interesting you can put a cup of it in the freezer and see what happens.  Odds are you already have some very similar products in your freezer.  You may not notice a difference, or you may notice it slightly thicken some.  It will heat right up (it just takes a little longer).

The biggest benefit is if you are fishing in cold waters.  There should not be a noticeable difference in your baits action.

Put it my freezer??? No ....I need it to work outside...where it's REALLY cold!!!

-50C is -58F.....I think I'm safe....since I live in "southern" Minnesota (although I've seen it in the -30's a few times).
