Do-It Engraved on mold
« on: 08/25/16 00:50 UTC »
Hi, I am new to the forum and new to pouring soft plastics. I currently only have the ES Gary Yamamoto 5" Senko. I have noticed that Do-It has their named engraved in the mold on the baits. Are all of Do-Its molds engraved or just the ES molds?

And for the expert stick bait pourers: As I get better I want more stick bait molds. How good are the non-Yamamoto molds? I saw a pretty nice 20 cavity 5.25" mold on Del-mart what size injector would I need for 20 cavities???

Thanks,

Just learning still

The Senko molds are the only ones with engraving.

I've caught fish on every manufacturers mold that's out there.  They're all good but obviously if you want an exact copy of a Yamamoto then your answer is to buy the Do-It mold. The DelMart mold is very close but good luck getting it. The ES molds don't  produce a shiny looking bait but if you look at the Yamamoto Senkos,  they're not very shiny either.  And you can't beat the price of the ES molds. If I were you I think I'd just go with multiple five cavity molds  or a couple of 10 cavity molds if you can find them.  That way you won't have to worry about having enough plastic to fill them. Who makes the best stick bait mold that isn't the Do-It Senko mold?

I like the non-Do-it DelMart T-stik.  I had the 4" HandPour but sold it.  Bangin' shape.  I'd like to own the 4" and 5" in an Injection mold, but I do like owning THE Yamamoto.  I will probably end-up with the Do-it 5" GY CNC mold Before Ol' Girl Sings.

BUT, other than the Venerable Do-it Stick, I would probably buy the BassTackle (BT) Stick.  They also have Tip Molds for theirs, which is a major Plus, in my book.

The GY ES mold is as cheap as you can get for a stick mold. And it is a perfect mold. If you want a bait that shines then take high heat engine paint and paint it. Then the baits with shine like the rest of them. Or buy like I did the CNC version and get the best sick bait you can buy. Seriously if your making baits for you or for sell then don't settle for an off brand that will always make you want better. It will only cost you more latter.

I have 12 of the Delmart 20 Cavity 5.25" Stick Bait molds. They take 11oz to fill.....I use an Ultra Molds 12oz injector for the job. Delmart is a bit slow sometimes getting the molds cut....but the molds are truly top notch and make a great stick bait.

I have two 4 cavity Del injection 5" stick molds. Same exact bait as a Yammy. I had to modify them to  side inject eight in one shot. Perfect baits 100% every time.

Baitjunkies also has an exact match the shoots great.
