Yamamoto Pumpkin Black Flake
« on: 09/14/16 16:24 UTC »
Does anyone have a recipe for Yamamoto Pumpkin Black Flake?  It is more Trans orange than anything.  I have tried to get this one dialed in several times and have never got it to match.

Thank, Tim

Have you got a pic of a bait using orange pumpkin?  I have never got that color to be close enough to the Yama color.  Thank you, Tim

Here's the m-f orange pumpkin.

The Yamamoto orange pumpkin looks redder, at least on my monitor, looking at the strike king color pages....which are quite accurate. I'd maybe make up an orange like this m-f color and doctor it with tomato x2, but very small amounts at a time. I'd get the color in line then add the flake.

I dont have any m-f orange pumpkin baits made up but you only need a little to achieve the gyb color.
( with adding black  flake)

LOL, had to read that line twice before I realized the true meaning. My mind is in the wrong place sometimes.  ;D

Here's an update.  Through a little more trial and error, I have the color pretty much spot on.
Stick formula:
1 cup essential medium plastic
3/8 cup blasting beads
1/8 cup lc salt
4 tbs softener
250 drops MF transparent orange
1.5 pinches medium black flake (actual finger pinches)

250 drops? Is that a typo?

Not a typo.  By the time you get the salt, beads and softener in there, you are looking at probably a cup and half or better.  That is about 20 drops/oz.

MF colors don't tend to be very concentrated.

I don't do these baits myself, but I've read enough about them on these forums that I feel safe to say he is talking about class beads that are used as blasting media.
