Walleye info
« on: 11/28/16 19:27 UTC »
Just thought ide share some info.

Almost every walleye I have kept to eat the last week and a half has been stuffed full of leopard frogs. I have seen as many as 4 frogs in 1 and cleaned an 18"er the other night with 2 6" frogs in its belly.

I assume the frogs are slow in this cold water and are a very easy meal.

This tells me I could step up the size of bait I'm using.

That's pretty wild, Mike. Amazing what fish will eat.

Walleyes will feed on frogs here too come fall. Frogs start showing up in some walleye guts shortly after frogs start to migrate to wintering areas ( marshy/soft bottom areas ) along the river. I have caught a few walleyes last fall that had mud on them that I assume was the result of them rooting around for frogs.
