Ok a few of you ask for a report when I got back from my trip so here we go.

This is my wife and I at the gateway to the Serengeti where we stayed in tents out in the middle of it all. Nothing keeps you up more then lions roaring less then 100 yards away. The first night at 2am I felt something pushing again the side of the tent. When I looked out side it was a whole herd of zebras. They won't hurt you but I knew I wasn't in Ohio anymore.

These are a few animals we saw

My wife and I both found that we went to Africa to see the animals but it was the kids that stole our hearts. We went to many many Boma's ( those are Maasai homes or hunts out in the middle of nowhere ) and visited them. They had no idea we were coming so we saw them just how they lived day to day. It was very humbling.

This little guy loved my sunglasses.

That's all for now. We were there for a little over three weeks and I feel very blessed to have done this. I'm sure it has changed my life in many ways. If you get a chance look up the company O.A.T They are awesome to travel with. They have a policy to always give back to the people your visiting.

I've been wondering when you'd return. Thanks for the up-date on your trip. I've heard from others who have taken the trips to Africa that the people steal the show with the animals in the back seat. Great pics Lamar.....and I can relate to that Leopard.

Yes they do. The Leopard had a Gazelle hanging in the tree just down from him. It's hard to believe that it can drag that big of an animal up a tree. The picture of the lion and Cape Buffalo was and incredible sight. This buffalo was in a herd of six others and fell a little behind. This lion kept him busy while the other three scared off the rest of the herd. When the three lions came back this big guy didn't last ten minutes and he was on the ground. Those cats have an amazing amount of power. This pack had four females, two males and six cubs. So they needed a big animal to feed them. I just never thought that anything could take down a big male Cape Buffalo. Yet the pack of lions did it all the time.

Very cool Lamar.  Thanks for the update and the awesome pics!  My wife spent some time in Africa in '06 at a Cheetah Ranch, and also agreed on her travels that the kids stole the show!  Humility was her same sentiment when she saw those kiddos and their families.

Very cool.  Thank you again!
