Badger airbrush problem
« on: 02/20/17 10:16 UTC »
Hey guys, specifically you all with experience using the badger Patriot gravity brush.  I'm having an issue with the back lever on my brush.  It seems to be sticking or jamming when I pull the trigger back.  I've cleaned the brush several times, lubricated the area and still the problem persists.  If any of you guys have any advice or a fix for this I would be very appreciative!

Check the valve where the airline attaches. Be careful not to loose any parts.

Check for paint on your needle and give it a good cleaning.

Needle, nozzle, etc are all spotless.  This back lever is having this catching/jamming go on even without the needle in the brush.  It catches when you pull the trigger about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way back and doesn't want to move any farther without forcing it.  That's why I believe it is an issue with the part itself.  I will look at the air supply hook up as well.

It sounds like your going to have to tear it all apart and check it out closely. Get a diagram of the parts off the internet so you can compare them and put them back together.

You don't have a bent needle, do you?

I fixed it.  Wasn't the needle it was actually the back lever.  Somehow it had become "un-bent" if you will, so I had to take a pair of pliers and bend it back to its more curved shape.  Back up and spraying again.  I have no clue how it happened to begin with but its a fairly small and malleable piece so who knows.

Glad you found your problem. Sometimes, an airbrush can drive you nuts. Most of the time it is something simple, and right in front of you.
