| Description: I devised this set up to fit in the garage window just above my work bench. It is a 1,600 CFM Gable mount attic fan. 110 Volt - 140 watts if I remember correctly. The blades are well recessed, but I am working on a safety guard to be extra safe. Works great; moves MAJOR air -- right where I need it. Sucks the fumes right out. I got lucky in that the height of the fan is almost the perfect height for maximum fume clearing. I position the pyrex cup on the work bench directly in front of the fan when stirring or injecting. | andrewlamberson | 01/11/12 16:51 UTC Man...that has to suck some air! |
| ghostbaits | 01/12/12 10:39 UTC Yeah, I was thinking... Hold on to your hat!!!!! |
| pjmcla | 01/12/12 13:46 UTC Actually it isn't a bad flow. If you stand behind a floor fan it is about the same. It will cool you off if the temperature is cool. A bit of "white noise" as well. Right off the top of the bench I would say it pulls 8 - 10 inches per second; or so. |

| wilks19 | 10/20/12 10:01 UTC Is that vent loud when running? I looked at those at Home Depot and I keep going back and forth between that set up and the roof vent. I have my stuff in a 10'x10' shed. I like your set up, very nice. I will try to post a pic of my shop this weekend. |
| pjmcla | 10/20/12 10:59 UTC There is some noise; but not overbearing. Sort of a white noise effect. It will make your shoulders and neck a little cool in the winter; but it clears the fumes very well. All in all I am pleased with it. |
