People are modifying molds or just using a size 0 SS sinker insert connected to an off set ewg worm hook...

Your quest will be hung up finding hooks like those you show.

I make something similar/better with a 7340 VMC hook on a tip up jig.

I know what you are trying to do.. It's simple if you do what I said above...

Try and use a hook with a longer leg on top and put more of the hook eye into the lead head.

Might be to heavy but the length is what you want.

These hooks are way too big for a ned rig... If they made them in 1/0 they would be great.

Since Cabelas dont have any, I bet you can find these elsewhere.. Looks like a good choice.

I’m almost positive that all you need is regular 570 Eagle Claw style hooks. And round nosed wire bending pliers. Pour the heads like normal and then use the pliers to put a slight rearward bend in the hook shank. This is what I do. I’d bet that’s how the heads you showed were done too.

No modification needed for the mold.

That looks simple enough. Thanks Hawgthumper.

Question for MT204. I like what you did in this picture but what is the purpose of the hole right underneath the hook shank? And the pin or stud that’s in the hole? Think I’ll do it to my mold too.

Put a small button magnet there to hold the hook in place.

Just drill the hole a bit bigger than the magnet, a dab of epoxy and position the magnet as needed. I use this method on a lot of molds that have been modified so the hook will stay where I want it. Some of those small rare earth magnets are pretty darn strong!

I took MT204s idea and here’s the results.. I think I need some hooks with a longer offset. Any suggestions?

Obviously you have me confused with someone else. This is the first question I’ve asked about hooks. But thanks. I did order some of the VMC hooks.

Someone asked how I modified my mold and yes it was with a dremel type tool.
Painted dye chem on the mold laid the hook in the mold closed it and "tapped" it very gently. Yes I saw a post some where and they had broke the mold from hammering on it.
Also the one area is ground out a bit more because I also have a different style hook I found that I also use. http://www.omtdhooks.com/en/catalogo/products/hooks-en/oh1300-2/.
And of coarse it's a bit more ground out now cause I added a slot for a wire to make it even more weedless for fishing in the woods.
Just can't figure out why Do-It can't add all theses options? ;D

I want to thank MT204 and 21xdc for your advice. I got the hooks I needed and worked my mold to accept them and here’s the results. I think they’ll fish pretty good. Thanks again guys! With all that said I wish there was a way to eliminate the little sinker insert. Does anyone make a hook shaped like this? Please forgive my artwork.
