Title: BTS Molds
Post by: amh169 on 01/08/17 00:05 UTC
Does anyone know how long it takes to get a mold or two from BTSmolds? Ordered mine 2 weeks ago, still haven't heard anything back other than the invoice.

I have read MANY extreme horror stories about BTS.

Drove me nuts the first time I dealt with Bob.
3 weeks after order and he didn't answer phone or emails.
I was ready to go to DA and start a 'fraud' claim as I also live in Arizona.
Talked out of it on another forum.
Finally it came. About 30 days after order.
I have since ordered more molds from him as he does do good work and the 3" crayfish, with claw and laminate molds are one of my favorites.
Most manufacturers will have a stock before they take orders.
Bob doesn't seem to have any stock and won't make a mold until he gets an order. Hence you will be put in the 'queue' and when he is ready your mold will be made.
Just the way he does business.
No customer relations at all.

Last one I ordered took 5 weeks for me to get it.

I have several molds from BTS, great molds it does take awhile to get them. He usually sends an email saying it has shipped . Shipping is generally fast but from my experience 1-3 weeks from placing the order until it ships. I would keep an eye on your email.

Thanks for all the replies. I have called several times. I wouldn't be so upset about it if I could at least get an answer and a lead time from him.

Bob, does take a while, and doesn't communicate very well...However, his molds are great!  I have several, and will probably order more soon!  Just be patient, it pays off with Bob!

Great molds if you don't mind waiting a while to get them.

Ordered mine January 28th. No mold or email saying it's shipped. Answering machine full, can't leave a message. Emails not returned.

I ordered a mold 2 weeks ago and nothing but a receipt for the order.  I just called and the answering machine is full.  I was going to get on the forum to ask about it, but apparently, it's been happening pretty frequently.  I wished I had known this before I ordered.

Finally some information.  I just wished he would have communicated with all of us sooner.  See pic(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170405/176edbcac8dafb8cf7faf79b05bc8123.jpg)

I feel bad for Bob but he needs to offer those waiting a long time for refunds if he hasn't already done so. For us that are only making stuff for us and our friends it isn't a good time having to wait but it isn't hurting too much. For those that actually have a business making tackle and supplying shops, well you have money spent that isn't doing anything and it may end up hurting if someone else takes over some of your clients as you don't have the molds to produce the extra inventory you need or the type of bait that is being asked for. The fair and right thing to do would be to offer a refund to allow the customer to find an alternative somewhere else, simply putting a message on your website isn't helping those who may have money invested that needs to be turned over to keep in business. I apologize for sounding a bit harsh but I'm no stranger to health issues and I know of someone who lost business over a similar issue and if Bob is offering a refund to those waiting then I applaud him for making the right decision but if all he is offering is message that you have to wait for an undisclosed amount of time, well then if I was a customer I would not be too happy even knowing he is sick, it isn't personal, it is a business regardless how big or small.

You can get your money back from paypal or your credit card.  He's been prescribed bed rest, he's not going to be doing the books.  I'm sure he feels worse about it than you do but life happens.

A property lien is a waste of time and money, mostly money.
If you paid with PayPal start a claim.
If a credit card same thing, if cash go to district attorney and enter a fraud claim.

That's what I did too. My refund showed up on my next statement. I'm not mad or pissed at Bob. Things happen and I hope things work out and he gets healthy and starts producing molds again. Sounds like Bear is not able to work any more so losing two talented mold producers would be bad for us and limit our choices. Please get well, Bob.

My opinion is this...if a man isn't capable of producing product, in exchange for money, then immediately stop accepting money for said product.  If you're taking money for product but know you can't produce/deliver product, then immediately stop taking money for the product.

End of story.

Given circumstances, then wait beyond said circumstances, still no product, then you are out of business until you can deliver product.  Maybe it's time to close your eDoors.  So sorry.  That's modern evolution, is it not?

Well seems like bobs even changed his address now.Have sent certified letters to him and they all come back marked no such address.Such a shame that a piece of trash can scam so many people out of their hard earned money and not have to answer to anyone.People like this should be in jail, just a poor way to run a business.Just to let everyone know, the postal service is involved,so hopefully they can shut this piece of trash down.In the state I live stealing an amount over 500.00 is a felony 3.   There are alot of great mold makers out there,so don't let this piece of trash stop anyone from enjoying this great hobby.

You have options Frank....like just file a claim with paypal or whoever paid for the mold order and then NOT post a pile of hatred here. This has been covered from front to back on this site and doesn't need any more ripping like this.  Exercise your options, not your frustration or ignorance, whichever the case may be. All of these related threads should be taken down.

Amen Tom! It gets old after a while.  Evidently the moderators think allowing it makes do-it look better, but the effect is just the opposite.

I agree we've all read about Bob. I've got no idea what's true or not but I'm giving the guy the benifit of the doubt that what it says on his Web page is true.

In my opinion if people want to join this forum to spread negative crap and not have any real input into bait making wich is what this forum is for they can just not post.

As far as the "moderators" allowing things. I don't believe we have any lol don't know for sure. For the most part since I've joined the forum every one here has gotten along just fine.  If people disagree no problem agree to disagree.

The things I've always liked about this forum are that #1 some of the best bait makers you will find anywhere especially when it comes to lead and plastic baits post here and are very helpful. Also no stupid rules about not posting links of other businesses or can't post pics to show off something cool you made.
We are all adults and shouldn't need moderated!

I agree, but every now and then it's necessary.
