First it took me right into a snag, but came back out. Then its wouldn't stop flipping around in my hand and I dropped it. Right when I was snapping the picture the jig popped free of it's mouth but somehow managed to stay in the picture. To top it off it slipped out of my grip and darned near went back in the drink.
The camera angle didn't do any favors either . Its actually right about 12 inches but looks about 9 given the angle its hanging. lol

I hit the dock again this morning, earlier than yesterday, and found the remnants of a turn over. Lots of bottom sludge floating on the water today along with threatening clouds. The clouds finally let loose so I wrapped it up with four nice crappies and a wet coat. Yesterday after I left it got pretty nice out with almost 70 degrees so I'm assuming the main portion of the lake's basin in this general part of the lake flipped as the water temps came up. The second main portion of the lake downstream is much deeper and stays colder at the top so it may have not flipped yet. We're supposed to get cool and stay cool now for a few days so I think I'll wait until Friday to let the fish get acclimated to the barometer and cooler water temps that will be coming tonight and tomorrow....give me a chance to make some more baits.
The crappies today liked both the clear party crasher/ chartreuse tail and the purple/chartreuse tail Thump-It in the 1.5" version. I tried a stinger type bait and a 2 1/2" Swing Impact knock off in the purple/chartreuse tail but the fish were sluggish enough that they would only hang onto the very end of the tails and not hook up. The Thump-It was short enough to get them though. And the hits were not as hard today as yesterday what with the change in the water. Friday should be much better.
Fish for dinner again tonight. Hard to beat that two nights in a row, eh?
