Learning how to core shot
« on: 02/05/21 17:31 UTC »
I’ve read, watched videos, rinsed and repeated...
Then I took the injector plunge.

These are my first attempt at a core shot stick bait, and I did a trailer for giggles.
It was also my first attempt a Mornin’ Dawn, but the two concepts kinda go hand in hand. They say go big or go home.  I think some mild refining is in order, but I am pleased with the path I’m on.

I did not have any actual 1/8” rod around, so a wire hanger gave its life for the hobby.
I have sourced some 1/8” brass rod at the local hardware store. Now I just need to go get it and do this core shot thing correctly.

Colors made from the following...
Shell:
Lureworks fluorescent pink, DeadOn purple

Core:
Lureworks florescent blue, DeadOn purple, Hobby Lobby pearl blue mica powder, worm salt

Looks like a great first attempt Wil... a crafter can get pretty fancy when using the E-core method, changing shapes and colors to put a whole new spin on standard injections.

Given the core did not make it all the way through your trailer bait, you may not have had the second shot hot enough (I usually have my second shot about 380).  If you have any questions relating to the process or designs, just ask.
