I found a dink today....
« on: 11/03/21 16:47 UTC »

27 degrees this morning and the fish we caught felt quite cool for a change. I didn't fuss with the thermometer but think that the water temps are in the upper 40's now. The fish cooperated nicely with many in the 11-12" range. The one in the picture taped out at 13 1/4" We started fishing while it was still dark and got into fish right away but the bite window slammed shut at about 8:15. We stayed until 9 and the fish in the picture was the only fish caught inside that 8:15 - 9:00 time frame. I had the slip float set at 6 1/2 feet and the hit was still upwards. The crappies have gone deep as soon as the sun hits the water. Weird. But still fun.

You should come fishing with me.  Apparently that's what it will take to show you what a real dink  looks like..  I am somewhat an expert in this regard.  Nice catch.
I find it incredible that I have to explain to a grown American citizen that taking a knee during the National Anthem is disrespectful.

Looks like a nice crisp fall day. Nice catch.

It was about 21 degrees when the picture was taken. Fished again today at 31 degrees and did well again.

Wow now that's  a nice Crappie.  This lake here has mostly small ones but I have gotten 14" from it.  I  caught a 11 inch a few days back but I believe a possible state record is in this lake here.  Great job tho nice fish

Was there ice on top of the water?

The water temp has been around 45-46 degrees yet so we're not seeing any ice even with the cold temps. Ice in the guides, yes.
