Blue tail senko???
« on: 11/19/21 15:57 UTC »
Hey fellas, my first post , thanks for having me.

I am Brand new to making soft plastics, just got my microwave setup in my shop and picked up measuring glass yesterday for heating.

Im in florida so black with blue tail is a very hot color down here, i have watched several videos guys pour a black senko cut of tail then inject blue to make tha tail.

 Obviously thats the only way?

I am a total newbie to this so
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys

Welcome to the Do-It forums Brandon.

Unless you have a tail mold for your Senko bait cutting the end off and re-injecting is about the best it will get. Really it's not that big of a deal. If you use that color a lot shoot a hundred of your body color and nip the tails off where you want them then just lay in those clipped bodies and start injecting your second color.  You'll be done in no time. I make hundreds of the 1.5" Thump-Its for crappie fishing, all with a chartreuse tail. I shoot up several hundred chartreuse baits, cut the tail portions a bit long and bag them up for future use. When I need more baits I just dump out a mess of the long tails, cut them back to the size I want so I am injecting against a fresh cut and have at it from there. You could shoot up a couple hundred baits in the tail color you want and snip off both ends a little long and bag them up too.

You need to leave the tails long if you're bagging them because in storage these will make some of their own oil  and that can hunder a second injection's ability to weld to the tail color. Just trim the stored tails to the length you need and re-inject. Those Senko molds are easy to do tail shots with.

Well i just shot my first ever bach of senkos and well lets just say i got one usable one lol

My mold injects from the head so i would need to lay 4 blue tails in and inject the black correct?

Also do i have to answer the 4 questions and put in the verification cose after every reply?
Thats a pain!!

Correct on the laying in the tails.

I haven't a clue what's up with having to answer questions before being able to post.

Brandon:  Depending on who made your mold, there may be a tail mold available.
