.... so I headed for the shop to tinker.
Today I fired up the hot pot and laid out hooks for the Trokar mold and cast up a few in each size.
The Trokar hooks are some aggressive animals and sticky sharp. The jigs cast up very nice and clean. I split the castings into two piles and painted one pile in black and the other in watermelon red flake using powder paints from Do-It. Eyes were applied: black heads got the Sexy Silver Attack series eyes and the watermelon got Solar Shad from the Hyper series. The heads then got a dip of Seal Coat and allowed to dry before fixing the weed guards.
For skirts I opted for the Flash series of pre-banded skirts. Half of the black heads got the "Bruiser" skirt and the other half got the "Dark Matter" color. Both really make these baits stand out. The watermelon heads got split and half of them got "Bleeding Olive Shad" skirts and the remainder got the "Sun burned Gill". Again, these colors really make the jigs a standout.

Hopefully I'll be able to put these to the test yet before the water begins to cool.
