Rigging the Wutz It
« on: 03/08/11 08:51 UTC »
Just wondering how you guys are fishing this bait. I recently got a few samples in both sizes, the smaller one I rigged with a 1/0 worm hook and would fish it drop shot stlye. For the bigger size im not sure, i dont like to use salt in my baits but i want the bait to fall slow on the pause, was thinking about trying mf sinking plastic. Also is anyone fishing this bait weightless with no salt ,if so how is the sink rate. I think this will be my next mold so just looking for some tips.

thanks shawn

I rig the 5" one on a 4/0 Gamakatsu EWG hook. I fish them weightless unless I want the bait to get into the vegitation or fall faster. At that point I might use a small tungsten weight pegged or use a belly weighted hook.

I do not use salt in my baits and the fall is perfect. The tail shimmys on the fall so subtle but enough to draw the most wary fish in to see what is up!

I have use a 5/0 and a 3/0 and the fall rate is still just right as well. I did pour some with salt but the salt kills the subtle action of the tail to much IMO.

The action is much like that of the carrot baits.
