New blades for the summer
« on: 03/12/14 14:23 UTC »
This is just a quick throw together to test out how these new blades work. This is a 1/2oz bait but the blades are called "ghost blades", they are clear and made of some type of hard plastic. I believe you can get them in 10 different painted patterns or clear, I chose these just for a trial run and if they work like the description says, it should be awesome for pressured fish. The patterns on the blades are light and see through which is why I chose a painted pattern and fits with the "ghost" name as you can see the pattern but also through it. The one thing I would say to anyone wanting to try these is to use a premium ball bearing swivel, either Worth or Sampo, those are the only ones I would use as the blades are super light, any little bit of resistance in the swivel and they won't swim so if you use imported swivels these blades may not be right for you. One some ice clears off, I'm guessing next week based on current and predicted temperatures, I'm going to give these a few casts just to see what the potential is and as I find out more I'll let you know what I learn.

Awesome spinnerbait. That would be a good smallmouth bait as you could burn it pretty fast. I'll be interested to hear how the plastic blades work out. I wonder if the weight will mess up the balance any.

That's a very nice looking bait.  Let us know how it performs.  It sure wouldn't surprise me if you aren't posting pictures of fish that came on a bait with those blades soon.  (just a hunch)
