Here is a couple of finesse football jigs I did, they are 1/4oz with 1/0 Owner 5304 Deep Throat Jig Hooks. The top jig is painted brown and has a skirt made up of barred UV predator flash along with molting craw and brown silicone. The bottom jig is painted green pumpkin and has a skirt made of the same type of flash as the 1st jig along with green pumpkin, magic craw, and Cajun craw silicone. I know some will question why a 1/0 hook and the answer is that I made them for a specific situation which I encounter on a lake I fish a good bit of the time. The lake has a decent size flat where the fish will spawn and once they are spawned out they scatter and become tough to find and catch for a couple of weeks but a few years back we found a pattern by accident that repeats itself every season. The flat where the fish spawn is adjacent to a secondary point and the bank is a "nothing" bank, just some scattered rock. When the fish are done spawning they move to this secondary point and just stay right off the bank in about 5' to 7' of water, we found them a while back when nothing was working and I started working a small hair jig and caught one and then another and we maked the spot and every season since the pattern holds true but we tweaked the way we fish it. The jigs are what we have been using for 3 years now, they are heavy enough to get down fast but not large enough that the fish won't take them, that is the other deal, these fish are spooky and they won't go after anything larger, we tried quite a few different presentations and the 1/4oz football jig with a 1/0 hook works.
