Looking into airbrushing

Alright, I'm thinking about taking the leap to airbrushing. What do you all recommend for the airbrush? I want something I can be fairly detailed with. Are there any good kits to get started?

Josh call mo and listen to his airbrush speech.
Don't buy cheap ones.  I did and hated it. I now have a eclipse iwata   I love it. Mo has one too. And I believe he bought a new one this weekend but I don't remember what it was. But it was priced right. 
Make sure your air is dry. And you have a fairly good regulator       
And keep that gun clean a clean gun is a happy gun. I'm sure mo will chime in later after he gets up from he's nap.

A good brush to start is the Iwata Revolution one notch up is the venerable Eclipse both are well made and are relatively cheap don't skimp on the compressor either you'll wind up buying one soon after the cheap dies/gives you fits, if you have a nail compressor they often work and of course if you have a shop compressor it will work also. As stated a line dryer and regulator are critical also.

Good Lordy this is my can of worms!!! Okay most has been said. Get an eclipse and be done but I have a 5 gallon harbor frieght compressor  cheap! And use the regulator that it came with it's still going strong 5 years and counting! I just woke up from my nap so I'm a little tired to type everything out up I think I can help take some of the learning curve out give me a shout 225 937 2956 that goes for anyone how has an airbrush question

I always find it best to call after 2AM as the baby is down for the count, Mo is up frustrated (don't ask)

Tom I will hunt you down like the dog you is  :D actually for the record 10 then 12 then 3 am my advice may not be that great during that time unless you want diaper or baby bottle tips and tactics lol

Thanks, Mo. I have a large standup Craftsman in my shop that has a built in regulator that's not real precise that I have been using with a Badger powder sprayer. It's OK but was looking maybe to run a dedicated line to my bench and rigging up a drier and regulator there. Compressor is on other end of shop. If I wanted to change pressure, I wouldn't have to get up. Just wondered what you guys were using. Thanks again.

Ap I have the same setup. I got a dyer and regulator from Napa store here.

Harbor freight has a regulator you can mount on your work station.

I looked at Harbor freight yesterday and they have quite a few regulators and a desiccant dryer that would work, I'm sure. I'm always a bunch leary about buying from Harbor Freight. My motto has been don't buy anything with moving parts from there. Most things I've purchased there with many moving parts or electronics, I've ended up throwing in the trash. The hammers, crow bars, brooms, and other human powered items seem to fair much better! ;D

We're on the same Harbor Freight page AP. I use the hammers and crowbars, etc purchased there to beat on the mechanical stuff from there that quits working.
